Remember Me, Filmed Partially in Brooklyn Heights, is 9/11 Fable Probably Not for You

Remember Me starring Twilight‘s Robert Pattinson was shot here and around Brooklyn last year causing mobs of fans to crowd each location to catch of glimpse of the actor.  However it’s twist ending is probably not the sort of surprise that many Brooklyn Heights residents would enjoy.

The movie opens today and reviews aren’t so good as well.  What’s more [SPOILER ALERT] is that the movie culminates in Pattinson’s character dying in the attacks of September 11, 2001. So if you’re looking for a light, date night movie and you’re from Brooklyn Heights this probably isn’t the right choice.

From the clip, with sage emendations:

    “He Broke the Rules…”

    “He Had Lost the Way…”

    “Until the Moment…”

    “He Tried to Act…”

    “And It Was…”

    “Over!”

I had no interest in this movie until now. I may go to see it just to experience the reaction of the teen girls around me to the 9/11 ending. That might be worth 10 bucks.

I saw this today and loved it.

No desire to see the movie, but I noticed in the trailer there is a ‘give-away’.

The birthday cake is how Mohammed Atta described to his handler the date of the impending attack.

Was it really necessary to spoil the ending? Pan the movie, fine, but posting the ending just seems a little mean-spirited.
