Armando’s Will Reopen Monday

Armando’s Restaurant [143 Montague Street, 718-624-7167] will re-open on Monday but without its famous lobster sign.   The Brooklyn Eagle reports that veteran chef Samuel Jachero will be joined with newcome chef David Ferraro.

Owner Peter Byros closed  the original Armando’s and rented the space to the Spicy Pickle franchise in March 2008.   It lasted less than a year, shutting down abruptly on February 20.  Three days later, BHB broke the news that Byros was mulling a return of his legendary eatery.

On Monday, Byros and his daughter Maria will start Armando’s new chapter.  Doors open for lunch at 11:30 am.

Looking forward to Armando’s return. I hope they will still have the baked pasta della casa on the menu–my personal favorite.

To preempt the haters: no one is forcing you to go. Spend your time lamenting Spicy Pickle’s demise.

    So where’s the sign?

I hope Paul will be returning. He’s a great bartender.
