Avoid Mortons like the plague! Absolutely dreadful, you’d be better off at Fridays. I threw a party there a couple of months ago, everyone’s steak was universally bad, from the tough, through tasteless, and massively over/under cooked. Don’t even get me started on the potatoes! The creamed spinach was nice.

Anyone have a good general care physician or PCP in the neighborhood?

  • EAC

Dr. Chuck Berk at Brooklyn Heights Family Practice is great.

There was a great doctor in the neighborhood named Michael Rafinan. His office was on the corner of Atlantic and Clinton. He left that position to open his own practice and has an office in Park slope and over near Wall Street on Broadway. He is very thorough and very much emphasizes a nonmedical healthy lifestyle approach.

Second Dr. Rafinan. I was sad to see him go.

Back to the refresh issue — suddenly I’ve lost the automatic refresh (on Firefox), which, after some adjustment by Homer some weeks ago, seemed fine and no longer erased whatever I might have been typing. But now, I have to reload; is this the new normal?

From the neighborhood here, it is very quick to his office in Manhattan. I decided that he was worth the effort to follow and had an appointment a month or two ago. For people that do not know me, I use a wheelchair, so getting there was slightly difficult. Rafinan was impressed that I got to his office and offered, if the traveling is too difficult, that he would stop by my apartment. Absolutely amazing!

Last night I went to see “Ponyo” at the Court St Regal. At th tiket-taker spot they searched every woman’s handbag for outside food & drink. Isn’t this illegal and possibly discriminatory since they didn’t have men empty their pockets– I think women’s hand bags are considered part of their person? And don’t they have better things to worry about? Attorneys and civil liberterians, please weigh in!
