Friday, June 26, 2009. This week we focus on the south end of Pier 1, where there’s considerable visible action. The “Grand Canyon” has now been given a plastic lining. North end of Pier 1, Friday, June 26, 2009. A hill is taking shape near the center of the pier, just north of the “Grand Canyon”, steep on the landward side, but with a gentler slope towards the river.
