According to the Wall Street Journal, affordable housing is no longer a definite component of the SUNY LICH/Fortis deal:

Well, the new Rite Aid is certainly nicer, cleaner than the old one. It appears the new Duane Reade on Court & Joralemon will be significantly improved. Perhaps Key Food will get some ideas here?

  • miriamcb

It is definitely cleaner/brighter but not usually better serviced, unfortunately!

Delighted with the BQE resurfacing! Our apartment is on the promenade and the building no longer shakes or vibrates. đź‘Ť

What’s up with the heavy police presence down at BBP? A LOT of cops there on Monday/Tuesday. They seemed to be stationed by the picnic tables and the soccer fields.

Has anyone used the new veterinarian on Cranberry and Hicks Streets-in Dr. Turoff’s former office, Please comment if you were happy with the care she gave your pet. Thanks.

Need a recommendation for a good veterinarian in Bklyn Heights-or very close by-Cobble Hill, etc.. Thanks.

  • KM

I asked them when I was down there – mayor was wandering through apparently.

Recent high praise from a neighbor whose cat was sick. Sensitive, capable end of life care.

  • AnnOfOrange

I personally recommend Erin Dockery, DVM at Cobble Hill Animal Clinic. She is skilled, practical, intelligent — has been the primary care vet of my dog for 11 years. We use VERG on Warren Street for after hours emergencies.

Anyone know what happened on Clinton Street near Joralemon Sunday night around 930pm. Lots of fire trucks and it appeared to be a car fire possibly?

  • Cranberry Beret

The Democratic 2016 convention committee was touring the park…the city treated them to Ample Hills.

  • GHB

Yes, Dr. Thomson recently took care of my dog. Highly recommended!

  • Hicksanthrope

That makes sense. Glad it wasn’t something more serious.

In a little bit of vandalism news, a section of fencing was cut out and taken from the perimeter of Cadman Towers on 101 Clark (Cadman Plaza West side) last night. They can see the culprits on the surveillance video but not a very good picture.

    Perhaps a Citibike was stolen?

  • Nancy

Dr. Thomson and her staff are wonderful. I recently took my cat there and received excellent care.

Saw a big FAT RAT scurrying around the deli section in our KEYFOOD on Montague! Just wanted to share with the rest of you…

  • miriamcb

    EW!

  • MiniCooper

Several people who have gone there give them very high marks. Said prices are reasonable and they are open 6 days/week.

  • Barbara

To all the people who responded to my queries about the veterinarian–thanks so much!! You have been very helpful. will be seeing Dr. Thomson for my cat very soon.

I would recommend the folks at One Love Animal Clinic at 317 Atlantic Ave. (between Smith and Hoyt).

  • Ann B Chapin

hmmmm-no hospital, no affordable housing, no??

  • David on Middagh

You’ve reminded me that a few years ago, the Montague St. Key Food did put in skylights.

  • Teresa

Lots of great vets in the neighborhood. Vinegar Hill is terrific: flexible hours, concerned vets, great follow-up.

  • cranberry

Great care. Delightful. Very personable Dr and staff.

Did you know that Corcoran sends out flyers with pictures of houses that they didn’t have anything to do with either as a representative of the buyer or the seller. No where on the card does it say they were not involved. It certainly gives the impression that they did. It’s so sleazy. Just remember this level of integrity if you ever want to deal with the Nielsen Sadowick Team

  • Jorale-man

That’s true. And there’s also the new mannequin. Maybe it’s a question of managing expectations.

Bicycle riders on the Brooklyn Bridge walkway are menace. The fancier the bike, the faster they go. Someone pedaling on the downhill sections is seriously going too fast. 10% of the traffic takes up half the walkway. Call 311 if you agree.

  • Greg

It’s probably more like 50-60% of commuting traffic – obviously most of the pedestrians are tourists just having fun (v.s. actually trying to get somewhere, which should be prioritized).

I acknowledge the rest of your points, but your 10% figure is qualitatively misleading.
