While reading the police reports for the blotter today, I came across one that was a departure from the usual iPhone and handbag thefts. On July 28th, an unnamed man from the Department of Homeland Security said he parked and locked his car on Warren St. near Smith St. around 8 p.m. The following morning at 6:30 a.m. he was told some of his belongings had been found near Smith and Douglas; upon returning to his car he saw the passenger-side window had been broken and the following items stolen:
—Dell laptop
—encrypted cell phone
—satellite phone
—Department of Homeland Security (DHS) GPS
—DHS response jacket
—personal GPS
—DHS digital camera
—DHS unsecured cell
—Miscellaneous papers
No word on the man’s identity, though he lives in Boston, Mass. The rest of the blotter to come later.
