Heights and Hills Surveying Area Seniors

Heights and Hills Community Council, an organization “committed to improving the quality of life of older residents of Brooklyn Heights, Cobble Hill and Boerum Hill”, is conducting a survey of area residents 55 years of age or older to determine what can be done to improve the lives of older residents of these communities. You can take the survey online by going here. As your correspondent, who just took it, can attest, it’s simple and not time-consuming. As the Brooklyn Heights Association notes:

The results of the survey will be invaluable to planners and other public officials as they seek to find effective solutions for the future. The GREATER THE RESPONSE, the greater the impact.

    As a member of the age cohort concerned, I feel the HHCC should address the shocking lack of outposts for quick and extremely causal… amatory commingling.

    Having such would not only benefit the target group, but the population as a whole, I feel certain.

    They show no interest in helping the hard of hearing. When they do, I’ll show some interest in them.

    AL: If you complete the survey, there are some open-ended questions which would allow you to express your need for services for the hard of hearing.

    I filled out the survey the other day and there was ample space to submit personal comments. The needs of people with hearing problems are frequently overlooked.

    they really need to address the biking issues. i have been hit twice over the past few years-once by a sidewalk cyclist and once by a delivery guy going the wrong way on clinton.
    the local police don’t seem to take it seriously!

    Thanks for your comments, but I fail to see how filling out the survey would be more effective than when I made an appointment and went there in person to discuss this failing with them. They were totally uninformed about issues of concern to the HOH community and had no interest in learning how they could be of help.
