Chicago is a band unsurprisingly identified with its eponymous city, but its perhaps most influential member, Robert Lamm, grew up in Brooklyn Heights and received his earliest musical training as a member of the Grace Church youth choir (as did pop balladeer Harry Chapin). Lamm, whose parents divorced when he was fifteen, after which he moved to Chicago with his mother and her second husband, wrote several of their hits, including “Saturday in the Park”. In the clip above (courtesy of tomintexas), he’s the keyboardist and lead vocalist.
