Hang Out at Truman Capote’s Pad with the BHA

The Brooklyn Heights Association will host readings of the works of Truman Capote on April 26, 8pm. The event will take place at “the” Willow Street, the 19th century mansion then owned by theatrical designer Oliver Smith, where Capote lived while writing In Cold Blood. The reading is curated by author Peter Hedges.

Tickets are $125 each for BHA members and $165 for non-members. To reserve your spot email rsvp@austeragency.com .

Editor’s note: While the address of Mr. Capote’s Heights residence is a matter of historic record, the owner of the home has requested we remove its exact location.

    Yes, but for $165, you get a marvelous scarf and passes to Studio 54. Or, at least, you should.

    It was actually worth it if you had $125 to burn. Great house, great readings by Peter Hedges and Lauren Ambrose (who absolutely nailed Holly Golightly), great music from a wonderful cabaret singer whose name I’m embarassed to admit I’ve forgotten.
