84th Precinct Police Blotter 5/19/09

bugleblotterThere was lots of smashed glass and stolen cars last week, and a few stolen cellphones, too. Here’s a round-up:

Overnight on May 9, a perp smashed through a glass window at a dentist’s office on Livingston Street, near Nevins Street, causing $5,000 in damage but not stealing anything.

The next night, a perp stole a man’s Acura that was parked on Livingston Street, near Court Street.

On May 12, a perp smashed through a man’s Chevy van window and stole his laptop. The man had parked the commercial truck on Clinton Street, between Pierrepont and Tillary streets, at 9:30 am but by the time he came back an hour later, the window was broken.

On May 15, someone stole a man’s car he had parked at the northeast corner of Atlantic Avenue and Clinton Street at 4:30 pm. When he came back at 11 the next morning, the car was gone and there was no broken glass. The man conceded that he may not have locked his door, and left a spare key inside. The perp stole 40 library books, two children’s seats, and cash.

In other crime, a perp grabbed a woman’s purse from a popular Montague Street Italian cafe on May 11, as she was eating dinner around 11 pm. A friend found the purse moments later, and the would-be perp hadn’t ended up stealing anything from the bag, the victim told cops.
