Exactly This, Mr Stanton! I may disagree with what you have to say, but I will defend your right to say it!

Likewise, I am appalled at the nasty reactions I have received lately about my orphan-eating machine. Orphans are leeches on society, and I only want to make it legal to feed them to a machine which will provide power to my cannabis suppository shop. Mind you, I am only talking about orphans under the age of 12. Older orphans have been put to good use in poultry factories in the Middle West. Their little hands really get out the gizzards! I am appalled that my fellow neighbors have not been respectful of my views and my suppository business has suffered.

Oh Jeff, are you off your meds again?

  • Andrew Porter

Where do you think they get baby oil from, anyway?

  • Karl Junkersfeld

Just looked at their menu and they are definitely more expensive than my go to on Montague Saketumi.

For example, Sushi Dinner 9 pieces of sushi and one roll is $33 at Sushi Lin.

Sushi Deluxe at Saketumi which is comprised of the same 9 pieces of sushi and one tuna roll is $21.95.

The question is if the quality and volume of the sushi and the accompanying roll are 30% better quality to justify the price differential.

We’re talking about a biz owner who enables and supports, still, a man and party that actively, and continues to, attempted to overthrow our Democracy, encourages violence and death against your elected leaders, judges, and private citizens and was just indicted on 31 counts of the Espionage Act! If you support him and his party now you support all of the above and your fellow citizens should know and decided if they want to financially support such people. This is not a both sides issue. This is about the survival of democracy vs the violent fascistic one party rule backed by Trump and most Republican leaders.

We remember Ruth a cashier lovely older African American woman who had a pretty “Open” sign that read “Ruth Open” the sign was to let customer know her lane was “Open” but the way the words were spaced it appeared to be her last name, we called her “Ms. Ruth Open”

Ruth would wipe her register down with ammonia and paper towels each morning before her shift “I hate a dirty cash register and a dirty home.”

FTR, I did not vote for Trump nor do I like or support anything he’s done. I think he’s an evil demagogue that should be incarcerated and the “MAGA” crowd are bunch of brainwashed dolts.
However, I think freedom of speech is our most important right. I think it’s only going to further divide the country if we engage in trying to stifle people’s ideas by punishing “the other side” …

  • NeighboorHood

You are confusing freedom of speech with accountability for that speech my friend. Nobody is saying he doesn’t have the right to support whatever politics he likes. However in a capitalist democracy we are likewise free as fellow citizens and consumers to speak our minds with our dollars and shop elsewhere.

Yeah I know all about the “fire in a theater” argument. I am not confusing anything. Nor am I saying, no one has the right to boycott, or is not responsible for actions precipitated by their words.

My issue is that these micro-punishments directed towards your neighbors, will only lead to more divisiveness and further damage our society.

  • Mr Scisquis

    I agree with Arch.

The other day I met an elderly gentleman named Smith who told me his neighbors were boycotting his stoop sale. He had lots of great old records! He said he was being punished for saying that certain “elements” in should be eliminated from the neighborhood. I can’t believe our neighbors would punish such a nice old man. These micro-punishments are only dividing us! I bought five records to support him and his ideas.

Just got an alert on my Citizen app that someone was hit by a vehicle on Garden Place. The vehicle drove away.

The Poplar Street Community Garden will host their annual Garden Party on Saturday, June 17th, from noon to 3pm.
    • Garden Tour
    • Book Reading
    • Live Music
    • Gardening Tips & Tricks
    • Refreshments

  • Banet

I walked by the seen about an hour later. It was not a person who was hit. It was a parked car that had their Sideview mirror broken off. The owner was lamenting to the police that somebody hit her mirror and only left a note. But the note had the persons phone number so I’m not sure whoever hit her car really did anything wrong.

Good Morning, has anyone heard anything about the stabbing that took place this morning on joralemon near the park?

  • allibaba10

Key Food is a cooperative, but it functions more or less as a franchise situation; the “cooperative” is basically just for advertising/ insurance purposes. Practically speaking, Arguello only benefits from the money HIS particular Key Food store brings in; he doesn’t profit from any Key Food stores he doesn’t own. stores Hope that helps!

  • Bornhere

I was so unhappy when Dag’s closed (although our stroller was stolen from inside the store…), and Danny was such a friendly and helpful manager. Well designed, clean, helpful staff, all good. #GoodOldDays

  • Bornhere

(I’ve never had a problem, though, with any of the staff/managers at Key, whether 40+ years ago or now.)

Trader Joe’s are union busters. Alas. I fall for their hippie branding.
