The final Open Streets Montague for 2022, sponsored by Montague Street BID and the Brooklyn Heights Association, takes place this Saturday, September 24 from noon to 6:00 PM. All parked cars must be moved from Montague between Clinton Street and Hicks Street before noon; an emergency lane will be open during the event.
This Open Streets will feature lots of opportunities for shopping, dining, artistic creation, and appreciating dance and music, both for adults and kids. Khaosan Thai, the latest occupant of the former Pinto/Brooklyn Farm site at 128 Montague, corner of Henry, will have its ribbon cutting and grand opening at 1:30 PM. “Free mango sticky rice with every purchase.” The Brooklyn Women’s Exchange will have a stand in front of their soon to be new location at 137 Montague, below the UPS Store and between Henry and Clinton. There, “{m]aster woodcarver Dennis Taylor will be whittling his whimsical creations and [the Exchange’s] volunteers will be leading a craft for children ages 5 and up. Dennis’s carvings and other handcrafted goods will be for sale. There will be other opportunities to engage in mural painting, balloon twisting, and other activities. A complete schedule is here.
