Did his fake watertower pass landmarks?

I think, in my amateur opinion, if the original architects spent a lot of thought on hiding the St George watertower, it would be absurd to put a fake one on top. One would think a world-renowned architect would be above such pastiche. The Brooklyn Watertower motif has been done to death by now.

So nice and cool today that I have reluctantly decided not to go.

So, I was walking under the Brooklyn Bridge in Emily Warren Roebling plaza with my wife and two kids on Saturday night. Two comments: First, the place is unexpectedly, extremely dangerous. As we were walking a glass bottled shattered on the plaza about twenty five feet ahead of us. It was a miracle that no one was hurt Another few feet either way and this would have been the front cover of the Post. Lincoln R. — assuming you read this blog, please check it out. It came from bridge and I can’t imagine this is the first time this has happened. Second, I haven’t been down to Dumbo on an early Saturday evening in a long time. Wow, has it become a destination for better or for worse. Would it be too much to have a traffic officer or two? It seems like everyone loses their driving skills and patience at the intersection of Old Fulton and Furman and Water Street. What a mess.

When I was a kid my friends and I spent many an after school hour, under the bridge, in that very area. It used to be the NYC Purchase Department, B-53 Salvage Yard. We would climb all over the piles of twisted metal and liberate cool pieces city memorabilia… Yes, more than once we saw a hub cap, lug nut or some other bit of a car come flying off the bridge.
Netting on the sides of the roadway would be good safety measure.

    All that’s left.

So, Karl—sorry, can’t resist this—you were the one to go to to get your ashes hauled? (Younger BHB readers can Google this phrase.)

Here’s a photo I took of friends there, sitting in a reclaimed wheelchair. The place was where old traffic signs, hospital equipment, etc., went to die. I remember pieces of an NYPD helicopter sitting there once. Artists would climb over the fence to get Neat Stuff for their projects:

    The picture is not showing?

    Haha…
I have never heard that slang term before. Must be my strict catholic upbringing. hehe

For those who are in the dark as I was:

    Slang (Ashes Hauled)
To engage in sexual activity, especially intercourse; to achieve sexual release or gratification.

Yeah, my computer suddenly thought it had dial-up service again and was incredibly slow.
