Tomorrow evening (Wednesday, May 13) at 6:30-9:00, the Brooklyn Historical Society, 128 Pierrepont (at Clinton), will present Nelson George, lifelong Brooklyn resident and author of Hip Hop America, reading from and discussing his new memoir, City Kid: A Writer’s Memoir of Ghetto Life and Post-Soul Success (April 2009, Viking). Joining George in the discussion, which will address “the changing face of Brooklyn,” will be Andrea Williams, Nelson George’s sister; BET’s Samson Styles; and Mike Thompson of Brooklyn Moon Cafe. Mr. Thompson will host an after-party at the Cafe, located at 745 Fulton Street.
