Gut renovations are seldom called for. We got a GE stove for $550. We got Marmoleum tiles laid in a checkerboard pattern from a good flooring shop in Bay Ridge. We had new Shaker-style cabinet doors, several with glass fronts for dishes and stemware, made by a local carpenter and purchased drawer and cabinet hardware from Horton Brasses in Connecticut. It didn’t cost a fortune, no architect was needed, all the workmen were competent, and the kitchen is period appropriate. Enjoy.

Did you do the work yourselves? My walls are also a mess, and I need some plumbing/gas line adjustments/replacements, because the existing ones are so old.

    Most people use GPS?

To reach a destination that the driver does not know an address will be loaded into GPS.

A closed street in Brooklyn Heights will be discovered by the driver upon arrival.

    GPS has its flaws.

We recently installed a beautiful vinyl plank floor by Armstrong for $300. A golden oak color. The floor is invisible blends into everything and matches the existing hardwood floors in other rooms, looks clean and had be VERY low cost. Home Depot.

Stanley Steamer was a make of car that ran on steam. Totally unrelated to “Stanley Steemer,” the rug-cleaning company.
