they actually added the additional street racks on Clinton @ Joralemon during the pandemic and then removed them because of all the gas line work. I’m with Jorale-man here, I think whenever they decide that the work is done enough the newer racks will go back.

  • Heightsman

    Agree. Dump.

Peeked into some gaps in the brown paper on the windows of the old Subway space and it looks like it’s becoming a headshop.

Can you be more specific? What do you see going on? Maybe they’re just repointing the facade?

The entire building is enclosed in mesh. The windows are covered with a stick-on blue material; there is no life behind them, as far as I can tell. There is a construction “shed” on all sides.

It’s possible that the facade is being repointed, but the work seems much more “serious”–and potentially intolerable to those who might be living within.

    Thanks.

Sounds like the opinion of someone who doesn’t have a Citibike membership and doesn’t own & ride a bike in NYC.

It’s facade repair. They have a permit for limited facade repair on north, south and east elevations. The mesh is to prevent dust and the blue film is to prevent chipping the windows with flying debris.

If it’s Local Law 11 repair, the building is either ahead or late to the game because the last cycle ended in 2020 (extended to 2021 for Covid reasons) and this cycle ends in 2025.

I own a bike, but often use Citibike instead because… biking down to Cobble Hill etc is fun, but biking back up… not so much!

I don’t expect any rack right outside a subway station would ever move permanently.

  • AEB

    Thanks, Cassie.

I thought there was a survey requesting in put from community on types of retailers we’d like to see. I guess no on read it. A head shop was not on the list. I’m sure the parents of St Ann’s and Packer may have something to say about that.

I can give you a recomnendation

  • NorthNeighbor

    That would be nice.
