My friend has an amazing organization, Brooklyn Book Bodega, which got onto The People’s Budget for our district. Voting ends today and they’re really hoping to get this funding. They have given out over 40,000 free books to kids during the pandemic. Let’s help them get funding to distribute 5,000 books to District 33! Would you please consider voting for them and passing this on to family members/others? Anyone age age 11+ living in District 33 is eligible to vote. The organization can be found about midway down the voting page, under the the title “Increase Kids’ Book Access & Ownership”. It only takes 3 minutes to vote!
    Thank you kindly!!

You’re welcome. I know how much reading shaped my childhood, so I’m glad to help any way I can.

From Borough Hall to the Post Office, here’s a photo from 1956. The rounded building on the left has since been torn down; the new Supreme Court Building’s steel skeleton is at the far right. The rest of the scene is a construction site.
