Hicks Street s schedules to be repaved Tuesday and Wednesday. Work usually happens at night. Cars left on the street will be relocated.

Good news, thanks for sharing. The current situation on Hicks is untenable.

Thank you for asking this (and @disqus_EW5uFl09we:disqus for the response)… I’ve been noticing these (seemingly new) lights from my window, too!

Thanks for validating, CB… one of these days I’ll document all of the various ways that design is sub-optimal and send it off to DOT and local reps for them to promptly do nothing about, along with my prior missives about the dangerous condition at Clark/Cadman where cars turning left onto Clark routinely barrel into the crosswalk with full disregard for pedestrians… sigh, [not so] old [wo]man yells at cloud :-)

My house is listed in real estate documents as having been built in 1910 when it’s clear from old photographs dated 1902 that the structure was already old by then. Various architectural elements in the house also point to an 1850-ish construction date. So vexing.

The exhaust from my ugly, bloated vehicles smells bad and causes asthma and climate change.

My own building was supposedly built in 1938, but I have photos and maps and records showing it dates from 1883. It was renovated in 1938.

Surprise! They did south of Joralemon today.

Based on cranberry’s insight and playing with google maps, I’m going to put my hat in for 99 Hudson. This photo looks like a similar crown

It topped off as the tallest building in NJ in 2018, eclipsing Goldman by 130 feet, but appears that it might have just started taking residents in July.

Excellent sleuthing. A quick Google search pointed me to this confirmation on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/jerseycity/comments/hy0c9f/99_hudson_rooftop_lights/

Looks like I’m not the only one annoyed by these lights…

    And north!
