This photo, taken from your correspondent’s window this afternoon, shows how the winds that have battered Brooklyn Heights this winter and early spring have ripped the flag that flies at the Montague Street entrance to the Brooklyn Heights Promenade.

    The ripped flag seems like a metaphor of what is going on with this virus. I’m so glad that during these difficult times, we found the time and effort to replace the flag. Surely nothing else could have been more important.
