Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Nearby

This coming weekend, from Friday, January 3 at about 9:30 PM to Monday morning, January 6 at about 5:00 AM, there will be no 4 or 5 train service in either direction between Brooklyn and Manhattan, as 4 trains will terminate and originate at Bowling Green in Manhattan, and 5 trains do not serve Brooklyn during these hours. As 2 and 3 trains should be running normally, use them as an option. If traveling to or from Manhattan’s East Side, you can transfer to or from a 4 or 5 at Fulton Street.

Also this weekend, from about 11:45 Friday evening to about 5:00 Monday there will be no service from Manhattan to York Street in DUMBO, as F trains will be diverted to the A/C line between West 4th Street and Jay Street-MetroTech. To get to Brooklyn from the LES stations on the F, take a Manhattan bound F to West 4th, and change there for a Brooklyn bound A, C, or F.

The following work week, Monday, January 7 from about 11:45 PM to Tuesday, January 8 at about 5:00 AM, and each succeeding night to Friday, January 11 there will be no Manhattan bound service at York Street in DUMBO, as F trains will be diverted to the A line from Jay Street to West 4th. To get to the LES stations on the F, take an A or F to West 4th and change there for a Brooklyn bound F.

These are the PLANNED service changes for the coming weekend and following work week that directly affect service at local stations. If you’re planning to take a train not affected by these planned changes, we urge you to first check MTA Info to see if there are any unplanned service disruptions. Also, always check MTA Info for planned or unplanned changes that may affect your trip on other parts of the system.
