Does anybody know what the tear [“tare”] up of Cadman Pl W is all about? Yes, I can guess that it has to do with 1 Clinton, but maybe someone KNOWS.

And I actually looked at some DOT site with no success. I know the City is better at communicating since Bloomberg made that a priority, but wouldn’t you think that “dig we must” would have yielded to what we’ve come to expect at building sites and in connection with our mess of a mass transit system?! … At least, give a target completion date!

    … end of rant.

Is this part of the Tillary Street Reconstruction? I think that is relatively close to completion but don’t hold me to that.

At least they’re finally replacing the sidewalk next to Cadman Park. However, I fear for the condition of the grass along Tillary Street that will soon be a mess unless it’s routinely maintained.

Does grass require maintenance? … Seriously, will runners use it? Dogs? … Right now, our brilliant DOT has thrown a tarp over the grass nearest the courthouse. Could that be maintenance?

Normally, this is a good link to find repaving schedules: http://www.nyc.gov/html/dot/downloads/pdf/bkresurf.pdf

But Tillary seems to be a different can of worms, whatever’s going on there. I wish they’d finish the lower part of it near the BQE entrance. Every trip to the airport is a white-knuckle experience in the back seat of a cab.

    Two things I saw today:

Vineapple, on Pineapple Street, has a sign on the door that they were closing for August but would be back in September.

Well, it’s definitely September, but they’re still closed. There is a plaintive post-it note on the door, asking (from 2 different people) what’s going on? Google says there’s going to be a social there on Sunday, September 15th.

Meanwhile, “Gregory” is back at the Key Food on Montague, wrapped in mummy shroud for the coming Halloween festivities!
