Kids in Droves (Adults, Too) Write and Color Cards to Mayor de Blasio Protesting Promenade Destruction

On Sunday afternoon, A Better Way NYC sponsored a postcard write-and-color-in outside the Pierrepont Playground, as reported by Mary Frost in The Brooklyn Eagle. Turnout was indeed impressive, as your correspondent can attest (see photo).

I just want to say what a great event this was. I saw so many neighbors and friends and saw so many postcards get filled out.

I hope they continue to hold events like these all through the Fall and Winter. Maybe they can find a well-located, indoor location where people can tell DeBlasio “Don’t be a Turkey” and “Only a Scrooge paves over the Promenade”.

It’s up now. I set it up last night, but got distracted by election returns and forgot to launch it. Mea culpa.

With Joe Lhota out at the MTA, I wonder if that will mean one less powerful ally against the promenade highway. He spoke out against it when it was announced. Then again, he may still have friends in high places – we’ll see.
