    Reading all the comments here about “tree-gate” reminds me of my country residence that is part of a private community. Nothing is a more contentious issue than trees, those who want to cut them down for the slightest reason vs those who want to save them at all cost.

    For the record, I don’t find your posts offensive and I disagree with Andrew’s flagging them. However, I stand by my assertion that this allegation should be taken seriously (by us, the community for whom these trees render enjoyment and shade) and that your consistent remarks about minding our business are perplexing. This isn’t a quarreling couple or someone buying tacky furniture, it’s a public tree and public demand for more information about its destruction is fully warranted. You can explain why you’re so eager to deflect attention from it, or you can drop the indignation.

    Yes, it is our business. Just because you don’t care doesn’t mean that members of the community are wrong to raise the issue. Just because who you choose to be an island doesn’t mean others should.
