Bargemusic This Weekend

Bargemusic’s weekend starts on Friday evening, October 20, at 8:00 with a “Little Tribute to Vienna” (photo) featuring pianist Alexandra Joan playing works by Haydn, Schubert/Liszt, Webern, Kreisler/Rachmaninov, and Schumann.

On Saturday evening, October 21, at 6:00 pianist Oleg Khudyakov will play works by Chopin and Stravinsky. There will be a second Saturday evening concert, beginning at 8:00, in which Mr. Khudyakov will be joined by Daniel Kogan on violin to perform works by Janacek, Szymanowski, and Weniawski (again, thank God for copy and paste).

On Sunday afternoon, October 22, at 2:00 and again at 4:00 (separate concerts requiring separate admission), pianist Steven Beck will present “Beethoven—Master of the Variations.”

There are details for each concert and you may buy tickets here. On Saturday afternoon at 4:00 there will be a free, family oriented “Music in Motion” concert, co-sponsored by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy. Doors open at 3:45; first come, first seated.

Is this concert possibly in Honor of Austria’s recent election or Austria’s venerable patriots and their movement over the last 70 years? The spirit of Olga, which I assure everyone is always present, might have some kind of objection to that,

So, I doubt the two events are related…unfortunately.
