    It’s amazing. With Syria going on, dwe getting closer to a real possible war, the noecons et al screaming for us to try another Lybia. And people are paying attention to…BH and Quibb park? And that’s a point; twenty or thirty years ago, when the intellectual life in BH was a larger and better, part of life in this community, people had a far higher lever outlook…and understanding.

    The mind–and the world without (assuming there IS one)–are encompassing, comprehensive things. One can both decry the horrors of political life in the larger world AND be concerned about local issues. It’s not either-or.

    But I suddenly realize–or think–the above is another example of fabulist thinking from Jeffrey S.
