At Kogane. The Tonkatsu ramen is pretty good. I see a lot of curmudgeonly types walking by and wonder if they are the usual posters here. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/a8105be150e9100588a3cae878ace5eab69f0c6cb26d60acaacb9b193243305b.jpg

  • harumph

it looks pretty but I’ve tried this place 3 different times and am terribly disappointed…

  • DIBS

I think it’s perfectly fine but it’s overpriced. You can still get better in Japan for ¥800-1,000!!!!

  • StudioBrooklyn

For the record, I’m not as curmudgeonly as I look.

  • GHB

I live on Columbia Heights and have always voted at PS 8. Now I’m told that we will vote at St. Francis College on Remsen Street.

  • oaktree

I always wonder how people would be reacting if the roles would be reversed, e.g. if Remsen St Strollin would be the bartender and the actual bartender would be the guest. Would Remsen be as understanding? And that goes for everyone else who on this blog has been bashing some local businesses because they didn’t get the royal treatment they think they deserve.
Would it have killed you ordering a non-alcoholic drink, tea, coffee, juice? it is a bit odd going to and sitting at a bar asking for a glass of water.

You never disappoint with your boastfulness. ” You can still get better in Japan for ¥800-1,000!!!!”
So what are we to deduce, that Dibs is so worldly that he knows the food in Japan. Like we really needed to be told that Japanese food might be better and cheaper in Japan. How about telling us about the Italian food in Italy or the French food in France?

What a braggart! Stick to Bucks County!

  • Bornhere

Henry/Joralemon used to vote at Borough Hall. Now we can all gather at St. Francis. Should be quite a gaggle :)

  • Concerned

    LOL!!!!

  • Concerned

He was waiting for a friend before ordering. It’s not like he was sitting there taking up space for 20 minutes.

Does that include airfare and hotel?

  • Jorale-man

Yes, hopefully St. Francis will have its act together Tuesday. Borough Hall is perhaps the nicer building but it could get awfully chaotic during the big elections when people voted.

  • DIBS

Panties in a bunch? What an angry, small person you are. No wonder you remain “Anonymous”

  • DIBS

Sadly not. When you amortize that among a few ramen dishes the cost rises dramatically! But I better not talk more on this lest Anonymous gets her panties in a bunch.

  • DIBS

I think you secretly are enthralled by my comments.

I bet the little place under the track behind The Imperial Hotel where you buy a ticket out of the machine for what you want is cheaper.

  • MonroeOrange

look at the yelp reviews oaktree, the problem has been with that bartendar/owner for years…same stories, that he harrases people who don’t drink, even if they are ordering food…shameless…place is a ripoff anyway, bring back La Traviatta!

  • MonroeOrange

you’ve already posted about the Spaghetti Carbonara enough times…order something else or don’t post a review.

  • Andrew Porter

Ever heard of separation of church and state?

  • Andrew Porter

When I go to bars, which is very infrequently, I get a diet Pepsi and leave a big tip. Problem solved.

  • DIBS

Do you ever eat out? We that do order different things all the time. I’m sorry that your sad attempt at trolling makes you look like an idiot.

  • DIBS

it’s wonderful place. It’s also right next door to Ciao which has incredible pizzas and a very good spaghetti carbonara.

  • Andrew Porter

The drains on the surface of the Promenade were very poorly thought out. I used to walk around with a stick and poke down into the ones with the little round holes, to get them draining. The larger ones are usually clogged with dirt, leaves, etc. AFAIK, they haven’t been cleaned out since the Promenade was repaved years ago.

The problem isn’t with the surface drains; it’s with the basic internal structure, which is simply past its sell-by date.

  • Andrew Porter

Food: cheap. Flying to Japan, cost of staying there: $$$.

  • StudioBrooklyn

    Hahaha that’s awful Andrew, jeeeez!!!

  • Concerned

If it was a secret, I wouldn’t reply.

  • JS-1

This is truly amazing…the ship of state, our country, is at 21 degrees list and what are you fighting over? Ramen? Various grades of Italian food? That’s what you are concerned about? At a time like THIS?!!!!!
What a bunch of real geniuses….

The City rents space from churches, mosques, and synagogues all over Brooklyn for various purposes. Why deny the library that option?

  • DIBS

LOL…I bet you are hunched over your keyboard on Facebook all day yelling at everyone over ridiculous political memes. And of course here, replying to whatever I do to have fun. It’s clear you don’t know how to enjoy life. Get a life. SMH
