Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Vicinity

Yet again this weekend, tomorrow (Friday, October 14) at 11:45 p.m. to Monday, October 17 at 5:00 a.m., A and C trains running in both directions are being re-routed to the F line between Jay Street-Metro Tech and West 4th Street, so there will be no service at the High Street station. For stops in Manhattan below West 4th, use the 2 (the 3 will not be running this weekend or late nights the following week) from Clark street or Borough Hall, the 4 from Borough Hall, or the R or (late night) N from Court Street. For those traveling into Brooklyn, the 4 will make all 3 stops between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and New Lots Avenue.

The following week, late nights (11:45 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.) Tuesday, October 18 to Friday, October 21, there will be no service on the 2/3 line in either direction at Clark Street or Borough Hall, as 2 trains will not be running between Chambers Street and Atlantic Avenue, and 3 trains do not run late at night. Use the A to or from High Street, the 4 to or from Borough Hall, or the N (which replaces the R late at night) to or from Court Street.

For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, either during the weekend or the following week, see MTA Info or The Weekender.

When the High Street station is closed, there’s a tremendous flow of tourists walking on Henry to the Clark Street subway station, headed back to Manhattan. I tell them about the sights here, but an amazing number just don’t care.
