Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Vicinity

It’s a three-peat of subway turmoil this coming weekend. From 11:45 p.m. Friday, July 29 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, August 1 there will be no service in either direction at the 4/5 platforms at Borough Hall, as 4 trains will terminate and originate at Bowling Green in Manhattan, and 5 trains do not serve Brooklyn on weekends. During the same time period, A and C trains running in both directions will be diverted to the F line between Jay Street-Metro Tech and West 4th Street, so there will be no service in either direction at High Street. For service to or from Manhattan, use the 2 or 3 to or from Clark Street or Borough Hall, the R or (late night) N to or from Court Street, or the A or C to or from York Street or Jay Street-Metro Tech.

Late nights (11:15 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.) the following week; Monday, August 1 to Friday, August 5, Brooklyn bound F trains will be diverted to the A line between West 4th Street and Jay Street-Metro Tech, so there will be no service from Manhattan to York Street in DUMBO. To get to Brooklyn from LES stops on the F during these hours, take a Manhattan bound F to West 4th and change there for a Brooklyn bound A or F.

For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, either during the weekend or the following week, see MTA Info or The Weekender.

Was just about to say the same thing myself!

It’s the best summary of MTA service policy I’ve seen.

I hope the passengers got off before they deep sixed those subway cars!

You left out that the BQE will be closed in both directions between Atlantic Avenue and the Tillary Street on-ramp this weekend. So it’ll be a traffic and transit nightmare!

I didn’t leave it out; this is a post about subways not highways. I posted a week ago about the BQE closures, and noted that they are happening last weekend and this, and are limited to the early morning hours.
