Fleet Week begins tomorrow, Wednesday, May 25, with a parade of ships that, starting at 11:30 a.m., will proceed from the Narrows up through New York Harbor, past the Statue of Liberty and Battery Park, up to the George Washington Bridge. The ships will then head back to their assigned docks: some at the Cruise Ship Terminal on the West Side of Manhattan; some to Staten Island; and some to the Brooklyn Cruise Ship Terminal in Red Hook. Ships at the Brooklyn Cruise Ship Terminal will be open for public tours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Thursday, May 26 through Monday, May 30. More information here. There will also be a Navy Band concert on Pier 1, Brooklyn Bridge Park, on Saturday afternoon, May 28, from 2:00 to 3:00.
