The weather forecast for Saturday afternoon was threatening, but the rain held off for the duration of this year’s Willowtown Fair. Artists were busy painting young faces and arms. Iris Cafe sold tacos and roasted corn on the cob, and kids frolicked on a bouncy castle. Video and more photos after the jump.
Under overcast skies. the Willowtown Bluegrass Band, with Elio Schiavo on vocal and mandolin, did “Rain Please Go Away”. It worked. The band performed three lively sets of music during the Fair.
Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez chatted with local residents Charles and Elinor Wilder. State Assembly Member Jo Anne Simon was also present.
City Council Member Steve Levin was an enthusiastic participant in the tug-of-war. All in all, a most delightful Saturday afternoon.
