Bargemusic’s “Here and Now Labor Day Festival,” which began yesterday evening, continues on Friday and Saturday evenings, September 4 and 5, at 8:00 and Sunday afternoon, September 6, at 4:00. It features works by contemporary composers, played by a distinguished collection of musicians, including pianist and Brooklyn resident Kathleen Supové (photo). This Saturday afternoon, September 5, at 4:00 there will be a free, family oriented “Music in Motion” concert, co-sponsored by the Brooklyn Bridge Park Conservancy. You may take a free guided Brooklyn Bridge Park tour by going to the Pier 1 entrance near the foot of Old Fulton Street at 11:00 a.m. Sunday. Looking ahead to September 9, there is the next Wednesday Night Tour, which begins at 6:30 p.m. at the entrance to Pier 1 near the foot of Old Fulton Street. The subject of this week’s tour will be “The Great East River Suspension Bridge” (a.k.a. the Brooklyn Bridge). It will be led by Dave Frieder. Tickets are $10, or $5 for Conservancy members.
