CEC13Brooklyn is scheduled to hold a working session meeting 6:30 pm on Tuesday, September 1st at District office at 355 Park Place, Brooklyn, NY. Per the agenda, the CEC’s re-zoning committee is scheduled to provide an update. The meeting is open to the public, attendees may make comments.
As previously reported, the CEC had expected the DOE to deliver multiple re-zoning scenarios for their consideration by August 31st. However, the DOE later revised their delivery date to the WEEK OF the 31st. It is unclear if the DOE will deliver the scenarios to the CEC ahead of Tuesday’s meeting.
The CEC calls input from the community “crucial” to the process. If you are unable to attend the meeting, please send in your feedback and concerns on re-zoning HERE: http://cec13.org/hot-topics/rezoning/rezoning-comments/ Your comments will be sent to the CEC and the DOE’s Office of District Planning simultaneously.
In addition, the Downtown Brooklyn School Planning Taskforce is seeking re-zoning comments via a short survey from families who reside in Dumbo and Vinegar Hill.
SAVE THE DATE for the evening of Tuesday, Sept 30th for the CEC’s Calendar Meeting where as of now, the CEC and DOE expect to unveil a proposed re-zoning plan to the public.
DISCLOSURE: This correspondent testified at the August 26th PEP to encourage the DOE to deliver the re-zoning scenarios to the CEC prior to the September 1st meeting.
