Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Vicinity

Again this weekend, from 11:45 p.m. Friday, February 28 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, March 3, there will be no 4 train service in either direction between Brooklyn Bridge in Manhattan and New Lots Avenue in Brooklyn. This means no service on the 4/5 platform at Borough Hall, as 5 trains don’t serve Brooklyn on weekends. To get to or from destinations on the East Side of Manhattan above 14th Street your best bet is to switch between the 4 and the R or (late night) N at 14th. For service to or from Manhattan below 14th, use the 2/3, A/C or R/N. For those traveling into Brooklyn, 3 train service will be extended to New Lots.

The following week, Tuesday, March 4 to Friday, March 7, each night from 11:45 p.m to 5:00 a.m., there will be no Brooklyn bound service at Court Street, as N trains, which replace the R on that route late at night, are being diverted to the Q line between Canal Street and DeKalb Avenue. If you’re taking the N from above 14th Street, transfer to the 4 there to get to Borough Hall. From below 14th, use the 2/3, 4, or A as options.

For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, either during the weekend or the following week, see MTA Info or The Weekender.
