    Thanks for the reminder!

Next time ask the people putting the stuff up! They are usually pretty happy to tell you what they’re filming and when it’s leaving. They mentioned that their stuff was going to be gone late tonight (I think around 11pm).

195 Hicks is a rental; the one that exactly matches it, on the corner of Hicks and Montague, with the beautiful plantings, is a co-op. I’ve always wanted to use a power washer on 195 Hicks and write “wash me” on the face of the building.

I sent the URL for the BHB post about that to the 84th Precinct. No response to me.

If you see tentacles coming out of the water, run!

Your NYPD tax dollars at work. Maybe. Or just someone’s rent-a-drone.

I wonder if anyone got a response. Having lived in a few urban centers, I’ve never actually encountered a non-responsive PD until living here. But after years of being here, I guess I’ve gotten used to it. Sigh.

the police have more important things to do, than respond to graffiti complaints!

First, I think there was more than just graffiti destruction that occurred. I saw a number of car owners who were very upset that morning trying to deal with destruction of their cars. There was other property destruction as well.

Secondly, I’ve been in places where police take graffiti complaints very seriously and actually educate the community on what they’re seeing in order to stop crimes from escalating. Tagging is a first step, not a last stop. I should note, these were in communities where there were also other things to respond to, but destruction of property is important to stop at the beginning of the issue or it will escalate.

We walked past on a Saturday morning and it seemed totally dead outside at the recycling. Maybe go then?

HAHA! Wasn’t asking for me. Just curious.
