Police Blotter 6/11/14: Burglaries in Brooklyn Heights, One with a Twist

While HQ is off galavanting on the West Coast, we present to you some of the crimin’ in Brooklyn Heights courtesy of our pals at the Brooklyn Paper.

On May 30, burglar bungled his way through a job on Columbia Heights between Pierrepont and Clark Streets. When confronted by the home’s resident he gave everything back but left a jacket with his ID behind. The paper adds that the varmint was caught on tape via a baby monitor inside the home.

This one will freak you out:

Police arrest a 22-year-old who they say climbed up a fire escape on Remsen Street and broke into an apartment on May 30.

The 33-year-old victim told police he was sleeping in his apartment between Henry and Clinton streets at 2:41 am and woke up to find the burglar in the home.

And finally, the paper reports that a man was robbed by a “a couple of toughs” on Montague Street May 31 at about 2:30 AM. They got away with “a gold ring, a Cartier watch, and a gold neck chain” as well as $70 in cash and a cell phone.
