Last Minute Weekend Suggestions: Brooklyn Heights and Nearby

Update: The snow sculpture contest at Brooklyn Bridge Park, PIer 5, will not be held tomorrow. We’ll update you on when it will be held. Saturday afternoon, starting at 3:00, the Park will have the first in its series of “Winter Talks.” This one, on “Living Aquatic Infrastructures,” will be given by Dr. Ido Sella, of SeArc Ecological Marine Consulting. It’s free, but you must RSVP as space is limited. More details and RSVP here.

The Brooklyn Heights Cinema will be showing Inside Llewyn Davis, and Nebraska, and the Sunday kids’ movie, starting at noon, will be Kung Fu Panda. More details and showtimes are here.

Join us at the Dodge YMCA this Saturday, January 25, from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM for a family focused celebration of Chinese New Year! Kids will ring in the Year of the Horse while having the opportunity to enjoy Chinese culture through food, stories and games. Activities include drum making, Chinese lantern making, a lucky candy bag scavenger hunt and traditional Chinese refreshments. Cost is $3.00 per child and open to members and non-members

    Thanks; I misread their schedule. The concerts that were listed aren’t until February 21. They seem to be taking a mid-winter break.
