Of course we’d all prefer a merchant who is more likely to cater to Brownstone Brooklyn residents than Downtown Brooklyn office workers but any retail that displaces the bureaucrats and increases foot traffic is an improvement.

I am from Brooklyn Heights AND I am a lawyer who works in Downtown Brooklyn. And I am thrilled.

Well if you’re not thrilled, that makes me that much more thrilled!

There’s also a new Banana Republic Outlet on Fulton across from the Gap outlet store. It’s not a bad addition to the strip. An outlet doesn’t seem to scream “gentrification” as obviously as a regular BR store does but it still has some value for different groups of shoppers.
