Hand Written Signs Bid Clark Street’s Mr. Video III Farewell

Mrs. Fink send us this photo of signs (we assume written by kids, but hey you never know) bidding farewell to Clark Street’s Mr. Video III. Earlier this year, the store announced it was closing at the end of December.

No word yet on a new tenant.

The new tenant is apparently a pharmacy.

If you live long enough you see many changes…some we don’t like.Do we need another pharmacy? Hopefully, it’s not a chain. There is more attention to the customer when the owner is on the premises.

For a while, there was a really excellent upscale delicatessen in the space, but it went bust fairly shortly after opening.

Of course it’s a chain! Silly person, to think otherwise. Someone noticed that there weren’t any chain pharmacies in the north BH, and Zap!

If you think this is something, wait until the redevelopment of the Witness buildings between the two bridges. They will bring thousands of new jobs and residences, plus retail space. A real game changer, not necessarily for the better.

City Chemist on Montague St. is privately owned and reviews are pretty good. I have been there and the staff is very helpful;this is especially important in the pharmacy . I hope something similar opens on Clark St.

I’ll second the praise for City Chemist. I admit, I was skeptical at first but once I went, I was very impressed with their level service.

I’ve found everyone in City Chemist totally clueless. Most of the time, the check-out counters are so covered with merchandise there’s no place to put what I’m buying, and whether the clerks are nearby or nowhere in sight, I invariably have to get their attention, after waiting a minute or so, to let them know I’m ready to check out. I really want to like them, and I keep trying, but they don’t make it easy.

Ugh! Cross your fingers for a Redbox in the nabe!
