Never once have I seen a fireman quickly parking his car in a massive hurry to get to a fire. They are always strolling over..just like how we all park our car going to work. (This is not me trying to downgrade their job, but just saying they are not in a hurry to park their car)
I don’t want anyone to get hit by a passing car due to them parking on the sidewalk. Tons of kids walk that way going to school and not much light at night. Guess you have to walk on the street a lot to notice.

So of course after declaring t Homer that Disqus hasn’t been loading for me for several weeks, tonight it loads and I can not only see the comments, but make one myself. I give up.

It now holds me at work, but not at home -BUT just for this site. I can post on at least 3 other Disqus using comment sections without signing on again. Go figure.
Some finalists for the building that will replace the library on Cadman Plaza – not too shabby. I like Proposals C and D the best.

Just got back from the Thankful for LICH rally — it was cold out there — but it was rousing, too.
Present were the members of the community, LICH staff, NYSNA, 1199 and our ever-supportive local politicians: o State Assemblywoman Joan Millman o State Senator Daniel Squadron o City Councilmember Steve Levin (District 33) o City Councilmember Brad Lander (District 39) o And last, but not least, Dan Whiley from Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez’ office — who even sang for us

The point is that if they have to look for parking in BH which is almost impossible in the morning, they will indeed be late to fires….They have been parking there for decades and i never heard of any accidents as a result….

It was hilarious that the renderings for the new building included images of cars parked on the sidewalk in front of the building. When the place is finished—I expect the sidewalk shed to come down any day now—I am sure that irate owners, having paid millions for their apartments, will be less than thrilled with cars parked directly outside their windows, with the attendant fumes and views being blocked.

Don’t forget the disabled guy on Hicks whose motorized wheelchair was stolen by one of those “trash pickers”—he never got the thing back. Also, it’s illegal to steal items placed outside on the curb for the city to collect for recycling.

The reason why is in Pineapple Walk’s comment;look at photo. People can look where they are going when they go around the cars…that’s the least they/we could do for men/women who run into fires to save strangers when all of us run out.

Why do dog owners let their dogs run on the astroturf in Cadman park every time it snows? They foul up the other side of the park, the astroturf is supposed to be dog free.
