Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Nearby

This coming weekend the only planned subway route diversion directly affecting service at local stations (I’m going to stop mentioning the lack of R service between Brooklyn and Manhattan, as there are now signs outside the Court Street station that explain this) is that, from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, Manhattan bound F trains will be running on the A/C line between Jay Street-Metro Tech and West 4th Street in Manhattan. This means no Manhattan bound service at York Street in DUMBO, so DUMBO-ites will have to climb the hill to High Street (where there will be more Manhattan bound service than usual) or ride a Brooklyn bound F to Jay and switch to a Manhattan bound train there. Also, to reach stations on the F line in the Lower East Side (West Broadway, Delancey, 2nd Avenue, and Broadway-Lafayette–although this last can also be reached by taking the 4 from Borough Hall, changing to the 6 at Brooklyn Bridge, and getting off a Bleecker) you’ll need to take the A, C, or F to West 4th and take a Brooklyn bound F back from there to the LES.

The following week, from 11:45 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., each day Monday to Friday, the F train will do the same thing in reverse: Brooklyn bound trains will run on the A/C line between West 4th and Jay; so, no service from Manhattan to York Street. To get to Brooklyn from the LES stops on the F, take a Manhattan bound train to West 4th and change there. Also, from 12:15 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. each day Tuesday through Friday, no 3 trains will be running in either direction. 2 trains will be running, however, so there will be service at Clark Street and at the 2/3 platforms at Borough Hall.

For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, see MTA Info or The Weekender.
