Avast! It’s Red Hook’s Pirate Ball

The historic Waterfront Barge Museum, docked at Red Hook and the site of many a tour and theatrical event, is returning to its maritime roots with a Pirate Ball on September 19th from 6:30 p.m.-10:00 p.m. The gala will celebrate the barge’s upcoming 100th birthday and include cocktails, hors d’oeuvres, and music from Brooklyn’s own DJ Mikey Palms as well as singer Bliss Blood and guitarist Al Street. And also taking center stage are the spectacular sunset views. Puffy shirt and peg leg are optional.

Tickets are available here; all proceeds will go toward the Waterfront Barge Museum.

I am all for this post and all for “Pirate Ball’ in Red Hook. I hope it’s a huge success. However, how come when I want BHB to do something news worthy that indirectly touches BH I get a message about staying on topic related to our neighborhood?

HQ apparently loves Red Hook. And yes this is more appropriate for Cobble Hill Blog — ARRRRR!
