Cellist John Patrick Popham (photo; video after the jump), with accompanying musicians, will perform a concert of five works by contemporary composers, two of them world premieres, this Saturday evening, September 7 starting at 8:00, at St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church, Clinton and Montague streets (enter from Clinton). Admission is $15; students/seniors $10. The concert is being presented by the String Orchestra of Brooklyn (which actually likes its acronym!), and Popham, who is about to depart for Austria on a Fulbright Fellowship, is donating all proceeds to support SOB and its programs. More details about the program are here.
The video is of Popham performing Someh Satoh’s “Ruika” with the SOB at St. Ann’s.
