Boardwalk Empire Shooting on Monroe Place

In addition to the Banana Republic shoot on Henry St. today, the HBO series Boardwalk Empire will also be filming on Monroe Place. (So it will be Christmas on Henry St., and Prohibition on Monroe.) You may be able to glimpse some of the scenes before getting waved away by the PAs, but just make sure your car is out of the way.

    On my way to the subway, I saw “Law & Order setting up for a shoot on Remsen.

    So this just goes to show, how after many of us have wrote to our councilmen about the weekly take overs of movie sets that absolutely nothing has been done…and while i like boardwalk empire…this shoot is taking over not just monroe place, but clark, henry and other blocks…its ridiculous…i just hope they somehow get the citibike rack in a shot…that should be an interesting set piece for Nucky to explain.

    There was some kind of fashion shoot blocking off a whole section of the Promenade tonight. I’m usually not bothered by filmings and such but this one was kind of obnoxious – they didn’t seem to have any permits displayed or other evidence that they were allowed to be diverting pedestrians out for their evening strolls.
