Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Vicinity

“Take the A Train,” said the Duke, but this weekend, from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, you won’t be able to take a Brooklyn bound A or C from Manhattan directly to High Street, as these trains are being diverted over the F line from West 4th Street in Manhattan to Jay Street-Metro Tech. You could get off at York Street in DUMBO and walk up the hill, get off at Jay Street and walk across Adams Street and Cadman Plaza, or get off at Jay and catch a Manhattan bound A or C back to High Street. This diversion will continue Monday to Friday of the following week, but only during the hours 11:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Meanwhile, the beloved–by some–G train won’t be running between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Church Avenue, though the F will provide alternative service, and trains between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Nostrand Avenue will be running at twenty minute intervals. This will continue Monday to Friday during the hours 11:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. One bit of good news for those those traveling to or from Brooklyn: after much waiting, the Smith-9th Street Station on the F and G lines will be open starting 11:00 a.m. Friday.

An actual service bonus this weekend: N trains are being diverted to the R line between Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center and Canal Street in both directions, so there will be more service than usual at Court Street and on the R/N platform at Jay Street.
