New Life at Wine Bar

The bright yellow exterior of the storefront at 50 Henry Street is now a more subdued shade of cranberry. According to workers at site formerly known at the Wine Bar at 50 Henry Street, an “American restaurant” will be opening there soon.

The wine bar and its sister stores Busy Chef, Blue Pig and Oven were shut down earlier this year when manager Dan Kaufman was accused of credit card fraud and identity theft.  Kaufman’s latest court appearance was scheduled for last Friday (12/26).  No further information is available at this time.

Whatever it is, I think I’ll pay in cash for the first few visits.

Does anyone know when it is scheduled to open? Or any other info? Also, any news on the corner across the street? Man, I miss the days of Isobel. It’s depressing to walk by that empty corner.

    So…

Rumor has it a tapas/wine bar run by the owner of HENRY’S END. If true we should all cross our fingers and shut our mouths lest we jinx it.

    Senor Salsa says “Seguro!”

Spoke briefly to the Cranberry’s owner today — he said he’s teaming up with the Henry’s End folks on this one.

Well the food should be good, just hope they do some remodeling and do not cheap out on the interior design….not a fan of the previous layout. Could be great!
