Winter doesn’t arrive until December 21, so we’re still in the waning days of autumn. Peak foliage time has passed, but there’s yet some color to be found, and the muted tones of late fall have their charm. Here are some scenes from a walk on Saturday, December 1. These are rose hips and leaves on Pier 6, Brooklyn Bridge Park.
On Pier 1, looking toward lower Manhattan. You can see my shadow at the lower right corner.
On the Pier 1 upland, looking west. You can barely see skyscrapers through the foliage.
Promenade gardens, between Clark and Pierrepont streets.
Berries, near the Pierrepont Street entrance to the Promenade, across from the playground.
