19th Century Faux – Winter’s Tale Shoot in Brooklyn Heights

Among the many movies shooting in Brooklyn Heights over the last few weeks is Winter’s Tale (also shooting in DUMBO). Twitter user @cmendonca173 caught some of the 19th century vibe of the shoot last Wednesday (11/21). The film stars  Matt BomerWill SmithRussell CroweColin Farrell, and Brooklyn Heights native Jennifer Connelly.  Oh and there’s flying white horse involved.  The flick is based upon Mark Helprin’s novel.

A recent interview with Helprin, who used to live in BH, made his days among us seem like labors in the teeming slums of Brooklyn. He referred to the 1970s houses as tenements. He also denies the fantasy aspects of the book. No, he would never dirty his hands with fantasy; he is a mainstream author!
