Subway Service Alerts: Weekend and the Following Week

Can you say déjà déjà vu? it’s much of the same old, same old this weekend, so I get to cut and paste. Just like last weekend, from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5:00 a.m. Monday there will be no R or late night N trains from Manhattan to Court Street or Jay Street-Metro Tech, as these trains will be diverted over the Manhattan Bridge between Canal Street and DeKalb Avenue. If you’re coming from Canal or above, you can take the train to DeKalb and catch a Manhattan bound train from there back to Jay or Court. If you’re coming from south of there, your best bet is the 2 (but not the 3, see below) to Clark Street or Borough Hall; the A or C may also be your best choice above Canal. In Manhattan, uptown C trains will be running express above Canal Street. For Spring Street, change to the E at Canal. For local stops above 14th Street, change there to the D, which will be running local on the A/C line (or, as an alternative for 23rd or 50th streets, take the E from 14th).

3 trains won’t be running between Chambers Street and Brooklyn in either direction. You may use 2 trains for alternate service between Clark street or Borough Hall and Manhattan, and for those traveling into Brooklyn, on to Franklin Avenue. 4 trains will also end their runs at Franklin Avenue; free shuttle buses will cover stops from there to New Lots Avenue.

The following week, A trains will be diverted over the F line in both directions between 10:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, and there will be no C train service during these hours. This means no service at the High Street station. You may use Jay or York streets as an option, or take the 2 or 3 from or to Clark Street or Borough Hall. During these hours, A trains will also be re-routed over the D line between 59th and 34th streets in Manhattan. Also in Manhattan, between 11:45 p.m and 5:00 a.m. Monday through Friday, uptown 4 trains which normally run local during these hours will be skipping 51st, 68th, 77th, 96th, 103rd, 110th, and 116th streets. To get to these stops, go to 59th, 86th, or 125th streets and catch a downtown train to the skipped stop.
