To borrow a sentence from Yogi, “It’s déjà vu all over again” this weekend on the subways. There are two planned service changes directly affecting traffic at local stations this weekend. From 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5:00 a.m. Monday there will be no R or late night N trains from Manhattan to Court Street or Jay Street-Metro Tech, as these trains will be diverted over the Manhattan Bridge between Canal Street and DeKalb Avenue. If you’re coming from Canal or above, you can take the train to DeKalb and catch a Manhattan bound train from there back to Jay or Court. If you’re coming from below there, your best bet is the 2 or 3 to Clark Street or Borough Hall; this, the A or C may also be your best choice above Canal. Fans of the G train should know that from 12:01 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Saturday only it won’t be running between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Church Avenue. F trains from Jay Street will be making all G stops between Bergen Street and Church.
Just like last weekend, 3 trains won’t be running between Franklin and New Lots avenues from 6:00 a.m. Saturday to 10:00 p.m. Sunday. 4 trains will provide alternate service between Franklin and Utica avenues, and free shuttle buses will cover stops from Utica to New Lots. In Manhattan, uptown C trains will be running express above Canal Street. For Spring Street, change to the E at Canal. For local stops above 14th Street, change there to the D, which will be running local on the A/C line (or, as an alternative for 23rd or 50th streets, take the E from 14th).
The following week, Monday to Friday from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. there is no service on the 2/3 line (and none on the 1 local in Manhattan) below 34th Street-Penn Station. This means no service in either direction at Clark Street or on the 2/3 platforms (the 4 and 5 will be running normally) at Borough Hall. For those traveling to or from the interior of Brooklyn during these hours, 4 and 5 trains will provide alternate service, making all local stops, between New Lots and Flatbush avenues, respectively, and the 4/5 platform at Borough Hall. From 12:01 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Tuesday through Friday, there will be no G service between Hoyt-Schermerhorn and Church Avenue. A and F trains will provide alternate service from and to Jay Street-Metro Tech.
