Borough President Marty Markowitz and Special Assistant to the Borough President Yvonne Graham have invited all interested people to attend a public hearing on the future of Long Island College Hospital next Monday evening, November 10, at the courtroom in Borough Hall, 209 Joralemon Street, from 6:30 to 8:30. As we have previously reported (see here, here, here, and here), the Board and managers of LICH have proposed to close its obstetrics and pediatrics departments and dental clinic, along with some satellite clinics in public schools, and to sell part of the Hospital’s physical plant, in order to stave off a claimed financial crisis.
If you want to attend the hearing, please RSVP by calling 718-802-4032 or e-mail to iguerrero@brooklynbp.nyc.gov. If you want to testify at the hearing, please bring ten copies of your testimony, and be advised that testimony is limited to three minutes per person.
